James (Jim) Terry III, age 58, passed away on Saturday December 14, 2024 after a short illness. Jim was born on January 21, 1966 in Clarksburg, West Virginia and currently resided in Coventry, RI. He was the proud son of Bette Lou [Hufnagle] Terry and the late James H. Terry II .
Jim graduated from West Warwick high school in 1983 and played on the West Warwick wizards football team as a nose tackle in which he assisted his team in winning the state championship against Bishop Hendricken in his senior year of 1983.
Jim was always a hardworking and dependable employee who worked for Arnold Lumber for almost two decades. His most recent employment was at Rambone Disposal for the last eight years.
Outside of work, Jim’s main priorities were the “Four F’s” : His faith, family, friends, and football. Since he was a little boy he was a loyal Pittsburgh Steeler Fan, no matter if they were winning or losing, he stood by his team. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors with his wife, daughter, and their beloved two German Shepherds, Major and Sargent.
Jim is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 41 years, Sheree Hebert- Terry of Coventry RI and his Daughter Ashley Terry -Scherbinsky of Coventry, RI.
He was the loving brother to Elizabeth Busch of Danielson, CT, Victoria Logan of Burrillville, RI, and Alexandria Terry of Charlestown, RI. He was a devoted uncle to his two nieces, Alexandria D'Angelo and Courtney D'Angelo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11 am in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main St., Coventry. Relatives and friends may arrive at 10:15 am at the front entrance of the church to offer condolences to Jim’s family. Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT in Coventry.
