JEANNINE T. “JEAN” (GUAY) JALBERT, of Coventry, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on May 24, 2026 at Kent Hospital Warwick. Jean was the beloved and loving wife of 65 years to Ronald R. Jalbert.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, Jeannine was a daughter of the late Aurelien Guay and Aurise (Harpin) Guay.
Jean graduated from Saint Clair High School and attended Assumption College while becoming the loving wife of Ronald Jalbert and proud mother to her three sons. Born in RI, she raised her family in several Connecticut towns where she enjoyed playing tennis and golf when not caring for her boys. Jean loved to drive, starting at 12 shuttling her siblings to school and back and hanging out with friends. She was a primary driver and supporter for her boys as they played hockey, baseball, tennis, swimming, rugby, and lacrosse matches all over Connecticut. In retirement, Jean and Ron traveled the world visiting many countries. They relocated to Naples, Florida where she enjoyed the warm weather during the cold Rhode Island winters and returned to Narragansett and Coventry during the summer to be close to Craig and David’s families. Additionally she loved spending time in Texas, Colorado, and Minnesota visiting Keith, and Family.
Jeannine is survived by her beloved children, Craig R. Jalbert, David B. Jalbert, and his wife Dory, and Keith J. Jalbert, and his wife Heather. Loving grandmother of 9 children; Steffan and Brennan Szumowski, Alexandra and Gregg Visi, Samantha and Greg Smith, Kara Jalbert, Jamison and Rebecca Sherer, Cory and Elizabeth Jalbert, Jessica and Alexander Fenni, and Miranda Jalbert. Loving great-grandmother of 10 children; Rylen, Ellie, and Lyla Szumowski, Jack and Lili Visi, Elliot and Oliver Smith, and Luna, Dakota, and Dillon Sherer.
Jeannine was the oldest of 8 siblings; Pauline and Dick Fadgen, Bert and Joanne Guay, Rene and Beverly Guay, Dennis and Jean Guay, Charlie and Joanne Guay, Ann Marie and Ronald Devuyst, and Donald Guay.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, June 1st, 2026 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM (NOON), with a Funeral Service to begin at 12:00 PM, in the Iannotti Funeral Home at Maple Root, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (ROUTE 3), Coventry, RI 02816. Committal Prayers and inurnment to follow at St Joseph's Cemetery, West Greenwich.
