JEFFREY M. BANGS

BANGS, JEFFREY M., 71, of Foster, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019. Jeffrey was the beloved husband of Laura A. (Cadete) Bangs for 42 years. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late E. Donald and Evelyn (Standiford) Bangs.

Jeffrey served his country in the US Navy.  Following an honorable discharge, he graduated from Bryant University and was employed as Director of Lifespan’s Home Medical Services. 

He enjoyed hiking in the White Mountains, white water rafting in Vermont,  kayaking in South County, and riding waves in Ocean City, MD. He had a soft spot for animals and adopted an assortment of rescues over the years. His white shepherd, Nala, was certified for Pet Therapy and went with Jeff to visit residents in the Elmhurst Dementia unit.  He was known for his quick wit and full bodied laugh, and would never be found without a fresh pack of his beloved Breathsavers.

He was the loving father of Kelley Bangs and her husband Jarett Kelly, and Drew Bangs. Jeffrey is also survived by his sisters; Pamela Miller, Patricia Wilson, and Kimberly Bangs, all of Maryland. 

Visiting hours will be Wednesday morning, November 13, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (Rte.117), Coventry, with a funeral service at 12:00 (noon). Interment with military honors will follow at RI Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the RI Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org/ri) would be appreciated.
