JOAN M. CHARPENTIER

CHARPENTIER, Joan M., 88, of Hope Valley and formerly of Coventry, passed away at South Kingstown Nursing and Rehab on Thursday, December 19, 2024. 

She was the loving wife of 64 years to Donald G. Charpentier,  who predeceased her on October 15, 2024. 

Joan is survived by her son, Mark Charpentier and his wife, Laurie, as well as her granddaughters, Samantha Rotella and Nicole Fallon, three great-grandchildren and her sister, Judith Sweeney. 

Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Anna (Ferretti) Kirby. 

After graduating from Johnson & Wales, Joan worked for Victor Electric in West Warwick as an Office Manager for many years.  She enjoyed crafting, ceramics and spending time at the family vacation home in Vermont while her granddaughters were young.  An avid reader, she spent her later years reading books, visiting her local library and attending book sales. She also loved to cook and take care of her home and her family.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (ROUTE 3), Coventry. A Memorial Service will commence at 12:00 PM (Noon). Burial at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, where Joan will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Donald is respectfully private.
