JOAN HELEN (MEEGAN) LABORIO

LABORIO, JOAN H. (MEEGAN), 84, of Coventry, passed away at Kent Hospital on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John and Helen (Gajdowski) Meegan.

After graduating from high School and attending college, Joan went on to self- employment as an accounting clerk for many years before retiring.  Joan loved theater and the arts and enjoyed many summer seasons attending the Theater By The Sea in Matunuck. She also had many day trips to the nearby casinos. Joan was a dedicated Boston Red Sox fan.

She was the loving mother of the late Daniel J. Laborio, and the companion of the late Michael Venditto. Joan was the sister of Marjorie M. Fortin and her husband Joseph of Orlando, Florida, and the late John Meegan. Joan is also survived by nieces Catherine Fortin and her husband Blake Howald and Caroline Fortin. She was the great-aunt to Yardley, Pascale, and Dominic.

A Committal Prayer Service will be held on Thursday morning, August 8, 2024 at 11:00 am in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Guests may assemble by the main administration buildings at approximately 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Coventry Pound Animal Shelter, 1670 Flat River Rd., Coventry, RI 02816 would be appreciated.
