JOAO D. ARRAIAL

ARRAIAL, JOAO D., 75, of West Warwick, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 23, 2024 at Kent Hospital, Warwick.  He was the loving husband of 52 years to Margarida (Melo) Arraial. 

Born in Villa Franca, Sao Miguel he was a son of the late Antonio and Maria Isabel (Ponte) Arraial. 

Growing up in the Azores, Joao was a natural born athlete and was a talented Soccer player. After immigrating to the United States to raise his family with his beloved wife, Margarida, Joao spent his entire career working as a Machine Operator at Bradford Soap Works Inc., West Warwick. In his spare time,  Joao found solace in his garden, tending to his fruit trees, and maintaining the natural beauty of his property.   

He was the loving father of Nelson Arraial of West Warwick, Nancy Odsen, her husband Joseph, of Johnston. Grandfather of Michael and Brendan Violette, Emily Chucka, and Mason Arraial; Great grandfather to Noah Lataille. Brother of  Helena Periera, Aura Silva, Isabel Andrade, and the late Antonio and Carlos Arraial. Joao is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. 

Family and friends are invited to Visiting Hours on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 6:30 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (Route 117), Coventry, Rhode Island. Burial is respectfully private.  Arrangements by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
