GAUVIN, JOHN P. 66, of Coventry, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 12, 2021. He was the husband of Rosemary “Rosie” (O’Connell) Gauvin for 38 years. John was the father of Jared M. Gauvin of Coventry. Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Bruno E. and Gertrude C. “Gert” (Roch) Gauvin. John was the son-in-law of the late Richard D. and Margaret “Peg” (Robertson) O’Connell.
John graduated from the Tollgate Vocational Technical High School in 1973. He went on to employment with the former Bonanza Bus Company. John and his wife Rosemary owned and operated the former Classic Coach Lines for many years. More recently, the couple have been estate managers for a Watch Hill family. John enjoyed fishing, taking many road trips, but mostly spending time at his “favorite place” Jackman, Maine. John will be mostly remembered for his love of his family, and outgoing and fun-loving personality.
He was the brother of Alfred Gauvin(Lynn) of Hope, Dennis Gauvin of West Warwick, Francine Proulx of Warwick, Maurice Gauvin (Jeannine) of West Warwick, Luke Gauvin of Johnston, Marc Gauvin (Sherry) of Warwick, Celeste Bucci (Thomas) of West Warwick, Bruno Gauvin Jr. of East Greenwich, Lise Gauvin of Providence, Renee Johnson (Raymond) of Coventry, and Guy Gauvin (Kathleen) of Florida. John is also survived by many in-laws and nieces & nephews.
Visiting hours are Saturday morning, November 20, 2021 from 8:30 am - 10:30 am in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd. (Rte.3) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main St., Coventry.
