JOHN M. SLOTA II

SLOTA II, John M., 63, of Kulas Rd, West Warwick, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018.

He was born October 5, 1954 in Warwick, the son of the late John and Mary (Pastore) Slota.

John was a graduate of West Warwick High School in 1972 where was a member of their Champion Football Teams. He attended Providence College which he graduated in 1977.

He is survived by his nephew Joshua J. Pauley, of West Warwick, and his Soulmate Sweetheart Debra A. Spellberg of Pawtucket for almost 9 years. He will be greatly missed by pets; Crystal and Casper, both American Eskimo Dogs, and Twilight the Cat. He was the brother of the late Ann (Slota) Pauley.

John was an SSA Benefits and Work Incentives Counselor at Paul Sherlock Center on Disabilities at Rhode Island College until he deceased. 

John Owner-Operator of Crown Display from 1983-1989, Crown Exhibit Group 1989-1996, Consultant & Operation Manager at Tradewind Design and Manager of Advance America until he retired in 2006 due to illness. 

John took pride in animals, husbandry, and he was a gentleman farmer where he cared for 150 different types of poultry, consisting of geese, duck, turkey, peafowl, pheasants, chickens, and Flemish Giant rabbits; also goats and peacocks. 

John completed a course in Veterinary Assistant Technician at CCRI and became certified in 2017.

John was a member of The Windwalkers & a Certified Pet Therapist. He was a communicant of St. Gregory The Great Church in Warwick. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday morning, July 18, 2018 from 10:30 – 11:30 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:30 am.  Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John’s name to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
