JOSE NUNES ROMEIRO

ROMEIRO, JOSE NUNES, 78, of West Greenwich, passed away peacefully  on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at the Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center, Coventry. He was the beloved husband of 52 years to the late Lucia F. Romeiro.  

Born in Angra do Heroísmo, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose Machado Romeiro and Ascensão Martins Nunes Romeiro.

Growing up in the Azores, Jose served his country Portugal in the military where he helped defend strategic points for the United States and NATO on the continent of Africa. He and his wife, Lucia, relocated to Rhode Island where they would raise their family. Jose worked for many years as a Foreman at the former Royal Mills in West Warwick, and alongside his son, operated Black Lotus Tattoo Studio in South Kingstown for many years. Always a supportive and dedicated husband and father, Jose put his family above all. He will truly be missed. 

Jose was the loving father of Joe Romeiro of West Greenwich. He is also survived by his beloved granddaughter, Hunter Lucia Romeiro, who was the light of his life.       

Family and friends are invited to Jose’s Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Saint Anthony’s Church, 1 Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.
