JOSEPH FORTIN, SR. Obituary

FORTIN SR., JOSEPH G., age 77, of Ipswich St., Seekonk, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, MA. He was the husband of Nancy J. Campbell. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Gerard J. and Theresa (Seccareccia) Fortin.

 

Joseph was an industrial electrician for over 50 years. Most recently he was employed at Gem Air Services in Pawtucket before retiring in 2002. He previously was the proprietor of the former East Bay Electro-Power Co. After graduating from High School, Joseph enlisted in the US Army and served his Country during the Vietnam era. Joseph was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He was a life member and a past president of the Rumford Hunting & Fishing Club.

 

He was the father of Joseph G. Fortin Jr. (Diane) of Narragansett, and Steven J. Fortin (Melissa) of Richmond. He was the grandfather of Lily M., Lea C., Parker J., and Bennett M. Fortin. Joseph was the brother-in-law of Russell Campbell Jr. and Robert Campbell.

 

For the benefit and safety of Joseph’s family and friends, a no-contact Drive-thru visitation will be on Sunday afternoon, November 29, 2020 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (I 95, exit 6, Rte.3) Coventry. Interment with military honors at the Saint Joseph Cemetery in West Greenwich will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Rumford Hunting and Fishing Club Youth Scholarship Fund, C/O Michael Malafronte, P.O. Box 142, Rehoboth, Ma 02769 would be appreciated. iannottifh.com
