JOSEPH LAPINSKY Obituary

LAPINSKY, JOSEPH V., 64, a lifelong resident of Coventry, passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2020.

Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, Joe was a son of the late Edward J. Sr. and Rose P. (Pona) Lapinsky.

A lifelong athlete and sports fan, Joe excelled at Hockey, Baseball, and Softball. In his early years, Joe was a standout Goaltender on his High School Hockey team, before a tragic automobile accident left him severely injured. As a true sportsman, after the accident Joe not only regained his ability to walk, but also learned to ice skate once again. Joe’s competitive spirit never faded, as he enjoyed playing Fast and Slow Pitch Softball into his 50’s. He was always rooting for the Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, and the New England Patriots.

He was the beloved brother of Edward J. Lapinsky Jr., and his wife Barbara of West Warwick; James C. Lapinsky, and his late wife Barbara of California. Joseph was predeceased by his sister Vincenza Pannell.
