JOSEPH B. LAWSON Jr.

LAWSON, JOSEPH B. Jr., 79, of Warwick, formerly of New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Kent Hospital, Warwick. 

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a son of the late Dr. Joseph B. and Helen (Gaither) Lawson.

Joseph grew up in Queens, New York, where he graduated from John Adams High School. Continuing his formal education, Joseph then went on to attend the Borough of Manhattan Community College where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Always an entrepreneurial spirit, Joseph owned and operated many businesses throughout his life. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, gaming and frequenting casinos, listening to Jazz music, and a good meal. Above all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, is what Joseph cherished most.

He was the father of Jason Lawson, Josette Lamont, and the late Jacque Lawson; grandfather of Shanelle, Kaprece, Maleke, Quincey, and Jordan; great grandfather of Alyeska and Eden. Brother of Jacqueline Devonish. 

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (Route 117), Coventry. Burial is respectfully private. Arrangements by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
