JOSEPH R. THIBAULT

THIBAULT, JOSEPH “Joe” ROLAND , of Coventry, RI, passed away at home on August 2, 2020.  He was 90 years old.   He was the loving husband and soul mate of Jeanne Thibault, who compassionately cared for him these last few years.  They were happily married and next month would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Born in Fall River, MA, Joe was the loving son of the late Albert and Auxilia Thibault.  In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and Richard Thibault, and one sister, Jeannine Thibault.  He was a Korean War Veteran and was retired from Brown & Sharpe after 45 years of service.

Joe’s greatest joy in life was his cherished family.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father and “pepere” and will be missed beyond words by his family including eleven great grandchildren.  During his younger years he enjoyed square dancing, golfing and taking long walks on the beach with his wife in Westport, Massachusetts, and playing with his grandchildren.

In addition to his devoted wife, Joe is survived by one son Michael Thibault and his wife Rita of Coventry, RI, and two daughters Diane Riordan and her husband Michael of Harrisonburg, VA, and Paula Rainha and her husband Richard of Middleborough, MA. Five grandchildren Matthew Thibault, Angela Proulx, Jeremy Rainha, Danielle Rowett and Michael Riordan, and their families also survive.  A loving brother Raymond Thibault and his wife Pauline and their family also survive.

Contributions in Mr. Thibault’s memory can be made to the Care of New England VNA Hospice (VNACARENEWENGLAND.ORG) whose care providers continued their dedicated and loving services at home despite the threats of the corona virus. 

Visiting hours to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend will be held on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (RTE 3) Coventry, with a funeral service to begin at 10:00 AM. Interment with full military honors at Quidnessett Cemetery, North Kingstown.
