JUDITH R. (RANUCCI) ETHIER

ETHIER, JUDITH R. (RANUCCI) “JUDY”, 77, of Coventry, passed away at Kent Hospital on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Armand L. Ethier for 51 years. Born in Providence, RI, she was a daughter of the late Sabatino and Victoria (Marzilli) Ranucci.

Judith graduated from Central High School, class of 1967. She went on to a successful career as a hairdresser for over 45 years. Judy was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved by everyone and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Judy was always making people laugh, she was very funny, always coming out with hilarious comments and phrases that will carry over forever. She was a great cook, and she enjoyed feeding her guests until they were stuffed. Judy enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis and Frank Sinatra; as well as singing and dancing. She loved spending time with her family and caring for her eight grandchildren.

Judy was the mother of Tara D. Ethier-Kaplan of Warwick, Valerie R. Ethier-Kenny and her husband Brian of Coventry, and the late Melanie V. Ethier-Smith, and  Eric A. Ethier. She was the grandmother of Tayla M. Smith, Briana R. Kaplan, Tori B. Smith, Lexie D. Kaplan, Olivia A. Smith, Jackson E. Appolonio, Wyatt A. Kenny and Isla R. Kenny. Judy was the sister of Richard Ranucci of Middletown, RI.

At the family’s request, Funeral Services and interment at Saint Joseph Cemetery in West Greenwich will be private.  Memorial donations to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) would be appreciated.  Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd.
