SZYMKOWICZ, James F. “Jim”, 54, of Revere Ave., West Warwick, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, August 31, 2020. He was the beloved husband of 24 years to Lynne J. (Bullock) Szymkowicz.
Born in Warwick, he was the son of Thaddeus W. “Ted” Szymkowicz, former Coventry High School basketball coach and the late Monica T. (Keegan) Szymkowicz.
Jim was a 1984 graduate of Coventry High School. He excelled playing in various sports leagues, especially remembered as a fierce competitor in baseball. After a few years of college he began his career as a conductor for Amtrak, where he has worked for the last 32 years. Jim enjoyed many activities over the years, such as golfing, fishing, vacations in Aruba, and watching and playing a variety of sports. He was an avid Patriots fan. He was a beloved son and a true friend who will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
Besides his wife and father, he leaves a brother, Joseph Szymkowicz and his wife Eileen of Coventry and his nieces and nephews.
Due to the current COVID – 19 restrictions, funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (StJude.org) would be appreciated.
