MANN, KENNETH R., 92, of Main Street, Hope Village in Scituate, passed peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Saturday, July 31, 2021. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Meade) Mann, and the companion of the late Madelyn “Mal” Picard. Born in Coventry, he was a son of the late Walter and Edna (Vogel) Mann.
After West Warwick High School, Kenneth served in the United States Navy with the rank of Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Airman during the Korean War. He was an accomplished automobile mechanic working at a repair shop in the Natick section of West Warwick, before taking on a 30 year career at Stanley-Bostitch in East Greenwich, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed bowling many years at Mac’s Bowlaway Lanes, gardening and yard work, watching Westerns on TV, the companionship of his cat “Baby”, and spending time with his family.
He was the father of Patricia L. McClanahan and her husband Monty of Oneco, CT, and Kathleen R. Sikorsky of Plainfield, CT. Kenneth was the grandfather of Michael Knight, Hollie Knight, Meagan Sikorsky and Stephen Sikorsky. He is also survived by a great-granddaughter Julia. Kenneth was predeceased by 12 siblings.
A Visitation will be on Thursday morning, August 5, 2021 from 9:30 am to 11:15 am in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (Rte.3) Coventry. Interment with military honor at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. iannottifh.com
