KENNETH M. "KEN" WALDECK SR.

WALDECK SR., KENNETH M. “KEN”, 81, of Coventry passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

Ken was the loving & devoted husband of 61 years to his soulmate Shirley A. (Hunt) Waldeck. Born in Coventry, Ken was a son of the late Nicholas Waldeck and Rose (Penardo) Waldeck-Vlerick, and the step-son of the late Grover Vlerick. Ken was the loving father to Brenda Cabral (Charles), Lisa Mathews (Lou), Kenneth M. Waldeck Jr. (Virginia), and Kevin Waldeck. He was the brother of Cheryle Waldeck, Michael Waldeck (Debbie), Pamela Waldeck and Nikki Hebert (Pete). Ken was predeceased by other six siblings.

He was the doting grandfather to 11 grandchildren, Angel, Jesse, LJ, Louie, Emily, Victoria, Aydan,  Charlie, Jonathan, Alexis, Cheyanne & 8 great-grandchildren, Thomas, Dylan, Gianna, Ryan, Mira, Mya, Mason and Logan.

Ken drove tractor-trailers for the Old Dominion Freight Lines and also for Mrs. Kavanaugh’s Bakery for a total of thirty years before retiring in 2014. Ken and Shirley lived in Florida for thirty years before returning to Rhode Island. Ken loved to play golf and was an avid NY Giants football fan.

Visiting hours will be on Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 3:00 pm in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd.,(95/exit 18/Rte.3) Coventry. iannottifh.com
