LCpl RYAN KENNEDY Obituary

KENNEDY, RYAN JOHN (LCpl USMC 3rdLaw Enforcement BN) 23, of Hope Furnace Rd., Coventry, died tragically September 14, 2018 following an accident.  Born in Providence, he was a son of Jeanne Marie (Baccaire) Natale and James M. Kennedy. Ryan was the stepson of Costantino G. Natale and Christine M. Kennedy.

 

A lifelong dream fulfilled, Ryan was an active duty Marine Corps Corporal stationed for the past two years at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan.  He was a military policeman, marksmanship coach, and law enforcement instructor. He also spent a year with HMX 1 in Quantico, Virginia and spent a tour of duty in South Korea, where he trained ROK Marines. While in the Marine Corps, Ryan was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Letter of Appreciation, Korean Defense Service Medal, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. was a graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School where he excelled on their Rugby team, as well the U.S. Marine Corps Military Police School and the Combat Marksmanship Coach Course. He loved golf and fishing and was a firearms enthusiast who spent hours at the range refining his marksmanship skills. Always smiling, Ryan loved nothing more than spending time with his loved ones.  He was a friend to all who knew him and will forever be remembered for his beautiful spirit, devotion to his friends and family, and love for his country.

 

Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother James Robert Kennedy, and a sister Chelsea Corrente, six step-siblings, his beloved and devoted grandparents John and Jacqueline Baccaire, many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins, and countless friends who he considered family. His grandparents Robert and Margaret Kennedy predeceased him.

 

His funeral will be Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 8:45 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, followed by interment with military honors at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society ( www.cancer.org)
