LEE JAMES MORTON

MORTON, LEE J., 84, of East Greenwich, passed away at Kent Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, December 8, 2024. He was the husband of Maureen F. (Ehrhardt) Morton for 62 years. Born on December 10, 1939 in West Warwick, RI, he was a son of the late James E. and Louise (Lee) Morton. 

Upon graduating from Warwick Veterans Memorial High School, Lee went on to study engineering at Brown University. In 1966, Lee established the Le Mor Tool & Die Company. Lee’s expertise was in prototype design and engineering. He was passionate and driven to always be able to find a solution in design and fabrication for his customers. 

Lee enjoyed the tranquility of the outdoors, whether it be sailing on Narragansett Bay, fishing, or simply feeding the birds in his backyard. Lee belonged to the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association.

He was the father of Karen A. Gregory (Rich), David J. Morton (Tracey) and Brian C. Morton (Lily). He was the grandfather of Amanda Morton (Jeremy), Brianna Morton (Matt), Nathan Morton, Abby Morton; Great grandfather of Lea Dalnas and Lexi Dalnas. Lee also leaves his great-granddaughter Noelle Morton. He was the brother of Frederick Morton (Evelyn), Cynthia Houle (Lionel) and Joyce Lajoie (Donnie); and the brother-in-law of James Ehrhardt (Carole). Lee is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday afternoon, December 14, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 pm in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd.,(95/exit 18/Rte.3) Coventry.
