LENA M. "LEE" (VIEIRA) PADULA

PADULA, LENA  M. (VIEIRA) “LEE” , 97, of Main Street, Coventry, and formerly of West Warwick, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Flora (Motta) Vieira.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Carmine A. Padula, her beloved son, Kevin and her adored granddaughter, Julie.

She was the devoted mother to Gary(Cindy) Padula, Karen(Vic) DeGraide and Paul(Allison) Padula.  Cherished grandmother to Mia, Shori, Reid, Tara, Amanda, Gary, Kevin and Gregory.  Great-grandmother of 5 precious children.

She is survived by her baby brother, Louis Vieira and her baby sister, Nancy Vieira.

She was the sister of the late Flora Vieira, Philomena DiNezza, Mary Tomasso, Abel Vieira, Sr. and Lucy LeBlanc.  

And last but not least, deeply loved by many nieces and nephews.

Lee was lovingly cared for by the exceptional people at Riverview Healthcare Community for 7 years, for which we are eternally grateful.  

Our family would also like to thank Rick Gagnon, his sister Denise and his daughter, Rebecca Martin for their Inspirational music each Sunday.  It was the highlight of Lee’s week, to the point, she was humming “How Great Thou Art” up until her last breath.  

Always optimistic, she was quick with compliments and words of wisdom.  Most often reminding us to “enjoy today”!

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 11 am in Saint Anthony Church, 1 Sunset Avenue, West Warwick. Inurnment at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Rhode Island Kitten Kits ( https://rikittenkits.com ) (Founder: Rebecca Martin) would be appreciated. Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT in Coventry.
