LOUIS MARSHALL Obituary

Louis D. Marshall, age 60, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, in Waunakee, Wisconsin.

Louis is survived by his partner of 20 years, Didith Romero, of Angeles City, Philippines; his mother, Mary Marshall, and sister, Linda Marshall, both of Waunakee; his niece, Shannon Cruz, and his nephew, Stephen Cruz. He is preceded in death by his father, Louis J. Marshall, of Waunakee and his brothers Thomas and John Marshall.

Lou was born on September 7, 1957 in Warwick, RI, to parents Louis J. and Mary E. Marshall (nee Cavanaugh). He was a graduate of Coventry High School, the University of Rhode Island and the McGeorge School of Law. He served as an officer in the United States Air Force from 1980 – 1992, attaining the rank of Captain. During his service, Lou was stationed in the United States, Japan and Korea. Lou received the Meritorious Service Medal for is outstanding service during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He retired from the Air Force in 1992 and moved to the Philippines to enjoy many wonderful years with Didith and her family. Lou returned to Waunakee in 2015 to care for his father until his father’s passing in March of 2018.

Lou was a kind and generous soul who enjoyed exercising, playing computer games and spending time with family and friends. Those who knew him will remember him as someone who met every day with a smile and an original off-key song. His sense of humor, generosity and love of all things hircine enriched the lives of so many; he will be greatly missed. 

A private graveside ceremony will be held in Rhode Island. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association (http://www.heart.org) in Lou’s memory would be appreciated.
