LOUIS M. TOURONY

TOURONY, LOUIS M., 83, of Rhode Island and Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Kent Hospital, Warwick. He was the loving husband of Carol (Chmura) Tourony. 

Born in Providence, Louis was a son of the late Louis H. and Delores (Iannotti) Tourony. 

From an early age, Louis was naturally drawn to automobiles and mechanics. He owned and operated several gas stations and garages throughout the state of Rhode Island before opening “Louie’s Tap” in 1973. Just blocks from Providence College, Louis ran his establishment until his retirement in 1994. Never losing his love of automobiles and engines, Louis also raced at Seekonk Speedway, and later in life enjoyed driving his 1937 Chevy to classic car shows. For the last 12 summers, he found solace and joy in his camper in Coventry, Rhode Island, surrounded by friends who held him dear. 

Louie will be remembered for his selflessness and always being there for anyone who may have needed a helping hand. Above all, Louis loved his family deeply and was a dedicated father, adoring grandfather, and loyal friend. He will truly be missed.    

Besides his loving wife Carol, Louis is survived by his children, Louis F. Tourony of Rhode Island, Gary M. Tourony, his wife Brenda, of Massachusetts, and Ronald J. Tourony, of Florida. Grandfather of Jada , Jenna , Roman , Olivia, Michael, Nicholas, Louis , Vincent, and the late Ronald J. Tourony Jr.. Louis was the brother of Sandra Dionne, Barry Tourony, and the late Bruce Tourony.

Funeral Services and interment at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston, is respectfully private. Arrangements by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
