LOUISE M. (FERREIRA) BABCOCK

BABCOCK, LOUISE M., 87, of Coventry, RI died on Monday May 23, 2022 at Kent Regency. She was born to the late Joseph and Mary (Silva) Ferreira on August 28, 1934 in West Warwick.  She attended schools in West Warwick and completed course work at the Community College of Rhode Island.

Louise married the late William Babcock on September 12, 1953.  For over 60 years she resided in Coventry, RI and was a communicant at Saints John & Paul Catholic Church.

Always quick to smile, with an infectious laugh, she loved to dance and enjoyed going to the casinos. She taught in the Literacy Program and worked with Girl Scouts of America. In addition to her trip of a lifetime to Portugal, Louise enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and was especially fond of her trips to  Myrtle Beach, Washington, DC, Florida, Alabama, Hilton Head, California, The Berkshires and New York.

She is survived by her daughter Cheryl and her husband Ronald Ledoux of Charlotte, NC, her daughter Donna and her husband Bill Rocchio of Coventry, her son William Babcock of Coventry and her son Roy Babcock and his wife Jennifer of Lisbon, CT, her seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A private service will be held at the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT in Coventry on Friday, May 27th.  Immediately following the service Louise will be buried next to her late husband at The Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.  Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.
