LYNNE MARIE (LEFEBVRE) POWERS

Lynne Marie (Lefebvre) Powers, 58, of Coventry, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Boston, MA.

Born in Warwick on April 15, 1965, she was the loving daughter of the late Osmond L. and Doris J. (Fawe) Lefebvre. Lynne attended West Warwick High School, and earned a degree in Business Management from New England Institute of Technology.

Lynne loved to experience life at its fullest. She traveled around the world with her loving partner Bob and her best friends. She danced the night away to live music by classic rock bands, like her favorite “The Eagles.”She built community through membership at the Coventry Men’s Club, East Greenwich Yacht Club, and Firemen’s Club. In the spring and summer months, she maintained beautiful flower beds at her home in Coventry. 

Her biggest passion was being a mother to her three children Lisa, Michael, and Melissa, and her dog Yoshi. She was an immensely supportive “dance mom.” She loved watching her daughters grow as they performed, taught, and choreographed around the country. A “Navy Mom,” she supported Michael as he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Kerasage, cherishing the letters that they sent while he was deployed. Yoshi, her extra large Yorkie, has been by her side for the last 16 years as her favorite furry friend and companion. 

Lynne was employed for the past ten years as an Office Manager at Ocean State Center for Independent Living (OSCIL). OSCIL is a local non-profit organization that provides a range of services to enhance the quality of life of persons with disability, through self direction, and to promote integration into the community. Through her work she found joy advocating for individuals with disabilities and helping them to live independently. 

Lynne is survived by her loving partner, Robert Vernon of Coventry; her loving children:  Lisa M. Powers of Reading, MA, Melissa L. Ray of Schenectady, NY, and Michael A. Powers of Coventry; her siblings:  Dennis Lefebvre and his wife, Sharon, of Boynton Beach, FL, Alan Lefebvre and his wife, Patricia of West Warwick, Glen Lefebvre of Warwick, Rena Gearhart, and her late husband, Edward, of Norfolk, VA, Lisa King and her husband, Mark, of Wayne, ME; her four-legged companion: “Yoshi” and her granddog: “Reggie.” She was the beloved sister of the late Rosemary Comery.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 4 PM - 8 PM at The Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street, Route 117, Coventry, RI.  A Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. John and Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry, RI.  Burial is respectfully private.  

An invitation is extended for all to return with the family following services to: The Coventry Men’s Club, 30 Phillips Hill Road, Coventry, RI for a celebration of friendship and love in honor of Lynne.
