MANUEL DA SILVA Obituary

DA SILVA, MANUEL J. 82, of Harris Avenue, West Warwick, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. He was the husband of Maria E. Da Silva for 58 years. Born in Espalhafatos, Faial, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio S. and Maria Alice (Jorge) Da Silva.

Manuel was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In pursuit of a better life, he and Maria immigrated to the United States in 1967. He worked tirelessly as a forklift operator at Leviton Manufacturing in Warwick for 44 years, retiring in 2010. In addition to his long career there, Manuel spent 25 years as a commercial lobsterman, operating the “Dottie Marie” and later the “Jenny Ma.”

Proud of his Portuguese heritage and guided by a strong Catholic faith, Manuel was an active parishioner of Saint Anthony Church. He was known for generously sharing his homemade wine and freshly caught lobsters for many church events.

Manuel is survived by his children: Kelly M. Granados of Cumberland; Antonio D. da Silva and his wife, Katherine, of Westerly; and George da Silva and his wife, Kristina, of Phoenix, AZ. He was the beloved grandfather of Marcus and Isabella Granados and Antonio H. and Asiri H. da Silva. He was the brother of Joseph da Silva and sister-in-law Elaine of Boynton Beach, FL, and was predeceased by his siblings Maria H. Lobao and Antonio J. Da Silva.
