MARIO PETRARCA

PETRARCA, MARIO, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 15, 2025 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the loving husband of the late Mariannina Maglioli. 

Born in Fornelli, Italy, he was a son of the late Antonio Petrarca and Domenica Petrangelo.
 

After immigrating to the United States as a young man, Mario and his late wife Mariannina, raised their family in West Warwick, Rhode Island. Whether professionally as a landscaper or in his spare time relaxing, Mario loved being outside in nature working with his hands. He was particularly proud of his beautiful vegetable gardens, and meticulously manicured lawn and property. Always one to appreciate music, Mario enjoyed dancing and playing his harmonica. 

Mario was the loving father of Anna Petrarca-Verte, her husband Pietro Verte, and Domenico Petrarca and his wife Maria Petrarca. He was the loving Nonno of Marisa Verte, her husband Gianni Castaldi, Pietro Verte and his wife Courtney Morey-Verte, Teresa Petrarca and her husband Giuseppe Castaldi; great grandfather of William Pio Castaldi and  Emma Castaldi. He was the brother of the late Domenico Petrarca, Giuseppe Petrarca, and Maria Petrarca. 

Visiting Hours will be Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (ROUTE 117), Coventry. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick. Burial will be held in Fornelli, Italy. Arrangements by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
