MARJORIE J. GREY

GREY, MARJORIE J., 85, of Ashaway, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Mildred (Higgins) Barrie.

Margie worked at several jobs during her lifetime but they were never her passion. Her family was always her priority and she did all she could to help anyone who needed it. She loved children and was never too busy to  give them love and attention. She was a great cook and an avid gardener but her favorite thing was to gather her family and friends for a celebration, no occasion was too small to mark with a party. 
 

She was the loving mother of Karen (Charlie) Johnson and Mark Guertin. Grandmother to Charles (Amy Van Keuren) Johnson Jr, Jessica (John Smiroldo) Marsh, Justin (Felicia) Guertin and Marissa (Chris) LaBella. Great-grandmother to Jakob Marsh, Greyson LaBella, and Cheryl Guertin. Beloved sister to Evelyn Scharer, Velma Schmidt and Avis Chamberlain. She was well loved by generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her great-grandson David Johnson and her siblings James Barrie, Marion Hanson, Robert Barrie, Virginia Beudry, Gertrude Paes and Douglas Barrie.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 11:00 - 12:30 PM, at the Iannotti Funeral Home at Maple Root, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (Rte 3), Coventry, with a funeral service to commence at 12:30 PM. Masks are politely required regardless of vaccination status. Following the funeral service, family and friends are invited to a reception from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at the VFW 9404 Coventry Memorial Post, 29 South Main St., Coventry.
