MARK P. TORRES

TORRES, MARK P., 62, of Coventry, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 20, 2023. 

Born in Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, he was a son of the late Francis E. and Alice (Sykes) Torres. 

From an early age, Mark had a natural ability to make friends wherever he went. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. After graduating from North Kingstown High School, Mark worked as an industrial painter for Brown & Sharpe for many years. He later worked as a Carpenter and Supervisor for various Rhode Island construction companies. He always enjoyed working with his hands, and through work got to travel to many places in the United States. In his twenties and thirties he enjoyed hunting, camping, and learning the discipline of Karate. Many will remember Mark for his adventurous tastes in cuisine.

Though he enjoyed working and traveling, above all Mark cherished his time spent with family and friends the most.

Mark was the loving father of Joshua A. Torres, and his wife Meghan, of Pawtucket, Alyssa Torres, and Michelle Torres, both of Haverhill, Massachusetts. Loving grandfather of Angel Silva and Jackson Torres. Mark was the brother of Johanna Ubben of New Hampshire, Eric Torres of North Kingstown, RI, and the late David and Paul Torres. He is also survived by his former wife, Shawna Kelley of Haverhill, MA. Mark was the longtime companion of the late Joni Lynn Smith.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (ROUTE 117), Coventry. Burial will be private.
