VINCENT, MARK P., 65, of Hope, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of 35 years to Marilyn (Flodin) Vincent.
Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late James and Dorothy (Peck) Vincent.
Mark had served on the Hopkins Hill Fire Department since 1974. He was hired as the department’s first career firefighter in 1986. Mark was the former Deputy Chief and had been the department’s Fire Marshal for many years. Mark also served as the former President of the Rhode Island Association of Fire Marshals. He was a Graduate of Coventry High School Class of 1977. He then went on to earn his Degree in Fire Science from Oklahoma State University. Above all, Mark was a cherished husband, brother, uncle, and friend.
Besides his dear wife Marilyn, Mark is survived by his brothers James Vincent, and his wife Debra, Michael Vincent, and his wife Linda, and Scott Vincent, and his wife Cathy. Mark was the loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, all of whom brought great joy to his life. The family would like to acknowledge the unwavering support of nieces Kendra Lanni, Allie Condon, Kelsey Macamaux and Kelsey Vincent.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the vast network of friends, family, and colleagues who surrounded Mark in his final weeks, offering joy, memorable stories, and immeasurable comfort and support. Mark’s warm spirit, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mark’s Funeral will be Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 9:45 AM in the Iannotti Funeral Home at Maple Root, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (ROUTE 3), Coventry. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Burial with committal prayers to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting Hours Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
