LATOWSKI, MARY L. (MALIKOWSKI) age 105, a lifelong resident of Coventry, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Mary was predeceased by her husband William Latowski in 1989. Born in Coventry, on February 14, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Zofia (Owcarski) Malikowski.
Mary was employed at the former Berkshire Hathaway textile mill in Coventry for many years. In her later years, she volunteered for nine years at her granddaughter’s Sweet Peas Village Nursery School in East Greenwich. Mary loved being with the small children and her great-grandchildren at the school where she was referred in fondness and admiration as “Grandma Mary.” She loved to bake for her family and friends. Mary loved her family dearly, and everyone at Sweet Peas. Mary was a great fan of the Boston Red Sox since the age of 13. Mary’s lifelong wish was to attend a Red Sox World Series. Her grandson Mark made her wish come true, he took her to all four World Series which was a thrill for her. However, Mary will mostly be remembered for the great love she had for her children, Linda L. Masiello and her husband Harry, and Richard W. Latowski all of Coventry; her admiration for her grandchildren Sherri, Mark and Heather; and her adornment for her great-grandchildren Auston, Isabella, Cecilia, Sophia, Stella, Sarah and Sylvia. She also loved her nieces Patricia Shea, Jayne Shannon and nephew James Duffy. Mary was the sister of the late Frank, Walter, John, Stanley, Walter Malikowski, and Josephine Duffy.
Due to the ongoing Pandemic, Mary’s Services and interment in Saint Joseph Cemetery in West Warwick were private. Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (Rte.3) Coventry. iannottifh.com
