MASTER SGT. JOSEPH P. BOUDREAU

COVENTRY- Master Sgt. Joseph P. Boudreau, 96, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Coventry Respiratory and Rehab in Coventry. He was the devoted husband of the late Marcelle V. (Lemay) Boudreau, whom passed away October 22, 2008.

Born on June 26, 1924, in West Warwick, he was the doting son of the late John and Annie (Lafond) Boudreau.

A proud and patriotic man, Joe was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War Conflict. He achieved the rank of Master Sergeant and had the honor of being assigned to the 11th Airborne Division, Company “D” 511th Airborne Infantry Regiment, where he was a Paratrooper. 

Following his time in the service, Joe worked as an Aircraft Spray Painter at Quonset Naval Air Station until it was deactivated in 1974. He then spent a short time employed as a Custodian for the Town of Coventry, eventually moving onto the Coventry Highway Department. Joe worked for the Highway Department for 20 years until his well-deserved retirement. 

In his spare time, Joe enjoyed working in his yard and tending to his garden. He also loved staying active by going on walks and he liked sitting outside.

Joe is survived by his dear children: Paul J. Boudreau and his wife Pat of Coventry; John E. Boudreau and his wife Louise of Westerly and Denise A. (Boudreau) Silvia and her husband Mark of Coventry; his 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. 

In addition to his wife and parents, Joe is predeceased by his siblings: Emile Boudreau and Theresa Fagnant. 

Visitation will be Monday, June 28, 2021 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Saints John and Paul Church, South Main St., Coventry. Interment with US Army Honors will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Greenwich.
