MAUREEN (WHITE) KEENAN

KEENAN, MAUREEN, 76, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Bayview Rehabilitation at Scalabrini, North Kingstown. She was the loving wife of 45 years to Richard Keenan, who passed away in May, 2014. 

Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Mary L. (Loughery) White. 

Maureen grew up in Cranston and attended St. Paul’s School in Edgewood followed by Cranston East High School from where she graduated in 1964. She then attended nursing school in Boston, MA. Maureen then worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Providence. The last 22 years of her career were spent at North West Head Start where she was the Coordinator of Children’s Health & Nutrition. Maureen met her husband, Richard, at Johnson’s Pond in Coventry when they were both 4 years old. From that early age, they remained best friends until they married in January, 1969. 

Maureen was the loving mother of Michaela Keenan and Christopher Keenan (Kristin Kraemer), both of Coventry; grandmother of Jordan Elizabeth and Zackary Adam; sister of Pat Warrener of Florida; beloved friend of Karen L. McGinnes. 

Her funeral services and burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Greenwich are respectfully private. Arrangements entrusted to the IANNOTTI Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Maureen’s memory to either St. Jude Children’s Hospital (stjude.org/donate), CMT Research Foundation (cmtrf.org), or Lifespan Cancer Institute c / o Dr. Howard P.
