MICHAEL J. KOWAL

KOWAL, MICHAEL J., 89, of Coventry, passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife of 65 years, Joan B. (Belair) Kowal by his side on Sunday, September 21, 2025. 

Born in West Warwick, Michael was a son of the late Michael M. and Martha B. (Bailey) Kowal.

Michael proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After his Honorable Discharge, Michael spent his career as a model maker for General Dynamics Electric Boat, retiring after nearly 40 years. Always proud of his Polish heritage, Michael loved cooking perogies and golumpkis for his family and church community at Our Lady of Czenstochowa, Coventry.  He was a member of the PNA Lodge 3 1001, American Legion Post 3 81, and the Polish American Citizens Club. 

Michael was the loving father of Rhoda A. Driscoll and her husband Robert, Michael M. Kowal and his wife Kim, Joseph J. Kowal and his fiance Brenda. Loving grandfather of 6; great grandfather of 4. Michael was the brother of Gertrude F. Holiman. Michael is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. 

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (ROUTE 117), Coventry, RI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington Street, Coventry. Burial with Military Funeral Honors at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
