OSENKOWSKI, MICHAEL J., 73, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 28, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Linda (DePalo) Osenkowski for the past 16 years, and the husband of the late Rochelle L. (Rossignol) Osenkowski.
Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Mieczyslaw J. “Meddie” and Czeslawa P. “Jessie” (Stukus) Osenkowski.
Always a man of strong faith and a willingness to serve God and his community, Michael worked as the Facility Engineer at Saints John and James Church and Saint Mary Mission in West Warwick, where he also served his congregation as an Acolyte. He was the current Color Corps Commander and past Faithful Navigator for the Knights of Columbus Father Wallace Assembly No.1055. He was the past Grand Knight for the SS John & James Knights of Columbus Council No.7238. Weekly he visited with shut-ins and nursing home residents as a Eucharist Minister bringing Holy Communion to them.
With his friendly and gentle disposition, Michael was always there to extend a helping hand to any family, friend, stranger, or to any one of God’s creatures. He loved animals of all kinds and could be found in his backyard feeding his bird or deer friends, who often ate out of the palm of his hand. He was an avid woodworker the last 30 years of his life and spent much time in the woods cutting trees and splitting wood.
Michael was a huge family man. Being a husband, father and grandfather was what he was most proud of. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and making memories with his grandchildren. He loved all of his friends dearly and loved going for breakfast with them weekly.
Besides his loving wife, Linda, Michael was the loving father of Kayla M. Osenkowski, Katelynn M. (Osenkowski) Caruso and her husband Paul. He was the adoring “Papa” of 7 grandchildren; Andrew, Zachary, Jimmy, Lauren, Adalynn, Paisley, and Zeppelin. Michael was the brother of Robert Osenkowski, Ronald C. Osenkowski, and the late Edward P. “Edgue” Osenkowski and Stanley Matthews. Michael is also survived by his three dogs Tazi, Sage and Star and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
