NANCY ELIZABETH (LEDOUX) HAWKINS, 94, of Coventry, passed away peacefully early morning, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald B. Hawkins for 53 years.
Born in Fall River Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Louise (Ivers) Ledoux.
After graduating from Durfee High School in Fall River in 1948, Nancy went on to further her education at Bryant College, Smithfield, RI,, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree. Following graduation, Nancy pursued a successful career in banking, first working for People’s Bank and then retiring from Bank of America after 25 years. She was a member of the Coventry Senior Center Red Hat Society and a devoted, long-time parishioner of Saints John & Paul Parish of Coventry singing in the choir for many years. Throughout her life, Nancy enjoyed reading, going to the movies, and taking walks through her neighborhood.
Nancy was the loving mother of her only child, Bryan B. Hawkins, and his wife Lynn, both of Exeter, RI. She was sister to the late Janet R. Ledoux. She is survived by her brother Richard Ledoux of Palm Desert, California, his wife, Joan, their children, niece Michelle and nephews Alan and Scott, and their children. She also leaves nephews by her late sister-in-law, Irma (Hawkins) Andrews, Russ Andrews of New Hampshire, and Scott Andrews of Coventry, RI, his wife, Lynn, their daughters, Sarah and Laura, and their children.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 3:30 PM - 5:00 p.m., with a Funeral Service to begin at 5:00 PM, in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (Route 117), Coventry. Burial at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, is respectfully private. Arrangements are by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
