NANCY C. (SMITH) ZARLENGA

ZARLENGA, NANCY C., 83, of Coventry, passed away peacefully at the Alpine Nursing Home, Coventry on Thursday, January 1, 2026. Nancy was the loving wife of nearly 63 years to Thomas A. Zarlenga.
 

Born in Providence, Nancy was a daughter of the late William H. and Delma L. (Tanner) Smith.  
 

A natural born caregiver, Nancy worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant for hospice, visiting patients in their homes throughout Rhode Island. She loved spending time tending to her garden and was very artistic no matter the medium. She loved to crotchet, knit, and also paint. Nancy enjoyed trips to area casinos and playing cards with her husband and their dearest friends. Nancy also loved sightseeing at area beaches and viewing architecture all around the state. Above all, being with her family and especially her grandchildren was what Nancy cherished most.   

Besides her husband Thomas, Nancy is survived by her children, Diane Zarlenga, Debra Esposito, her husband David, and David Zarlenga, and his wife Kristin. She was the loving grandmother of Delia McNair, her husband John, David “DJ” Zarlenga Jr., and Brian Esposito. She was also the sister of Elizabeth Lovegren of Florida, and the late Esther Smith, Mabel Palmer, and William H. Smith Jr. 

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM with a Funeral Service at 10:30 AM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (ROUTE 117). Burial with Committal Prayers will be at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
