NICHOLAS J. MUNROE

MUNROE, NICHOLAS J. “NICK” 40, of North Kingstown passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 12, 2026. 

Born in Warwick, Rhode Island, Nick was the son of Donna J. (LaPorte) Munroe of North Kingstown and the late Richard L. Munroe Sr.

Nick graduated from Exeter-West Greenwich High School in 2003, where he lettered in football, and then attended the Community College of Rhode Island. He began his career working with his father at his business, Solutions Water Technology Inc., and then went on to work as a heavy equipment operator. Most recently, he enjoyed a career as a skilled metal fabricator with Metals USA in Seekonk, Massachusetts.

Following his father’s passing in 2023, Nick stepped into a fatherly role for his younger brother, Zane. Known as the guiding light and “Diplomat” of his family, he cherished those he loved. 

Outside of work, Nick loved music, fishing, Superman, and was an avid New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and Boston Red Sox fan. An avid festival-goer, he especially enjoyed Phish and the Grateful Dead. He enjoyed both saltwater and freshwater fishing, spending time outdoors, and being with family and friends. He was also a proud member of the Narragansett Surf Casters Club.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Richard L. Munroe Jr. and Zane X. Munroe; his girlfriend Kellie Dumont, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

His funeral will be Friday, June 19, 2026, at 10 am from the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd.,(95/exit 18/Rte.3) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial 11 am in Saints John & Paul Church in Coventry. Interment at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery in North Kingstown. Visiting hours are Thursday evening 4 - 7 pm.
