NICHOLAS "NICK" PARENTE

PARENTE, NICHOLAS “Nick”, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025 in Sterling, CT. He was the loving husband of Jo-An (Zorabedian) Parente. 

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Anthony and Concetta Parente. 

As a young man, Nick proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps before his Honorable Discharge. Born with a relentless work ethic, Nicholas was the owner of Vendresca Brothers Septic Services, North End Septic Services, Sponik Septic Services, and Bayview Septic Services. He also owned and operated Hot Wheels Skating Rink, New Bedford, MA and Silver City Skateland, Taunton, MA. All while, he was the manager of the Meat Department for the former Almacs Supermarkets for nearly 40 years. He also worked as the dedicated videographer for the Providence College Friars Men’s Basketball team for over 50 years, a team he loved deeply throughout his entire life.    

He is survived by his son, Peter “Bucko” Parente, his wife Melissa “Missy”, and daughter Colleen Taber, her husband Doug. Grandfather and “Bampa” of Thomas Moulton (Stefanie Fischer), Dr. Michael Moulton (Dr. Kendall Moulton), Peter Michael Parente, Nicholas “Nicky” Parente, Anthony Parente, Samantha Faiola, Geno Faiola, and Matteo Faiola. He is also survived by many loving great grandchildren. Loving brother of the late John A. Parente, his wife Patricia (Ambrosia) Parente. 

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (ROUTE 3), Coventry. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial with Committal Prayers and Military Funeral Honors to follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
