NORMAN FAUCHER, JR. Obituary

WESTERLY, RI- Norman A. Faucher, Jr., of Westerly, former longtime resident of Coventry, died peacefully, with his family by his side on Thursday, September 2, 2021, in Westerly, RI. He was 83 years old.

Norman was born on April 8, 1938 in New Bedford, MA and was the son of the late Jeanette (Chevalier) Faucher and Norman A. Faucher, Sr.

Norman is survived by his children: Steven Faucher and his wife Catherine Faucher of West Yarmouth, MA and his daughter, Danielle Bergey and her husband Leif Bergey of Westerly, RI; his five grandchildren: Joshua Faucher and his wife Jennifer, Brandon Faucher, Zachary Bergey, Rayna Bergey, and Keara Bergey; his sister: Doreen Ferreira and her husband Arthur Ferreira, Jr. of New Bedford, MA; and also, his two nieces: Jacqueline Dupuis of New Bedford and Jeanine Simmons of Norton.

Norman served in the US Army Reserves from 1957-1963, where he was part of the 94th Infantry Division and was honorably discharged on March 31, 1963. Norman also attended Southeastern Massachusetts University and received his bachelor’s degree in Science in 1970. Norman was employed by the Sears Roebuck Company for 35 years in Middletown and Warwick, RI.

Norman was a great father and grandfather. He was a kind, gentle man who loved his family and friends. His passion was art and design. Scrimshaw, sketches, painting, photography,
and interior design are just some of the many talents he possessed. Even his cooking skills were a work of art. We have all been blessed to be the recipients of Norman’s work which will ever be cherished and shared through future generations. The beach was Norman’s sanctuary. Feeling the cool ocean breeze and watching incredible sunsets was the place he felt most at peace. He will be missed, however, his love for his family and friends will always be with us.
