HORNER, Paul A., 74, of Carrs Trail, passed away at Rhode Island Hospital on Friday, January 24, 2020. He was the beloved husband of 33 years to Linda S. (Pearce) Horner.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Alfred and Helen (Short) Horner.
Paul grew up in West Warwick and graduated from Deering High School. He was employed by Electric Boat Quonset for 33 years until his retirement. He served in the Army Reserve for 23 years.
Paul had a life-long interest in American history, especially the Civil War and both World Wars. He enjoyed being outside working on his home, traveling, and camping with his family and friends.
Besides his wife, he leaves two children, Patricia A. Skorohod and her husband Greg of Coventry and Kevin P. Horner and his wife Lindsay of Coventry; three step-children, Roger L. Beaulieu Jr. and his wife Sherry of Coventry, Greg A. Beaulieu and his wife Andrea of Coventry and Kristen Beaulieu and her fiancé Tim Garthwaite of East Greenwich; a brother, Robert Horner and his wife Anne of Cranston; a sister, Jane Cotter and her husband David of Missouri; 9 grandchildren, Jade, Tyler, Gregory, Andrew, Gabrielle, Abigail, Matthew, Elizabeth and Makenna and his dog and best friend, Guiseppe. He was the father of the late Michelle Santagata.
His Funeral will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 8:00 am from the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd. (Rte.3), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Joseph Church, West Warwick. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Friday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated.
