PAUL A. McGOVERN Jr.

PAUL A. McGOVERN Jr., 70, of Coventry, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 40 years to the late Barbara (Conroy) McGovern. 

Born in Pawtucket, Paul was a son of the late Paul A. Sr. and Estelle (Baril) McGovern. 

As a young man, Paul proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Always a dedicated and hardworker, Paul then went on to spend his career as a Commercial Truck Driver working with Kenan Advantage before his recent retirement. In his spare time, Paul enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors with his sons and grandchildren. He reminisced about Bristol, Vermont, a place where he and his late wife found solace in the natural beauty and stillness of their surroundings.       

Paul was the loving father of James P. McGovern, his wife Barbara, of Pawcatuck, CT, Daniel McGovern and Joselyn Machado of Johnston, RI, Holly and John Asermely of Coventry, RI, Amy and Michael Platt of Coventry, RI.  Paul is also survived by his adored grandchildren and great grandchildren and multiple siblings.
