PETER H. JONES

JONES, PETER H., 76, of Coventry, passed away at home on Saturday, March 20, 2021. He was the loving husband of Emily E. (Breene) Jones for many years. 

Born in Coventry, England, he was a son of the late John L. and Dorothy (Mellors) Jones. 

Peter was a Production Manager at Remploy Incorporated, England until moving to Rhode Island in 1988. Once in the U.S. he continued to work as a production manager at Insite. He was the Past Secretary and President of the Coventry W. Greenwich Lions Club of which he was a member of for over 20 years. With his dry sense of humor and British wit, he was always the life of the party. Peter loved to entertain his friends and family, and was especially known for his “Boxing Day” parties. He was an avid English Football fan, scholar, and semi professional coach. Of his many traits, his most distinctive was his English pride, he was a proud Brit.

He was the loving father to John Jones and his fiance Heather Castellanos, Heather Gazerro and her husband Andrew, and Derek Oberg. Peter was the brother of Thomas Jones, Gail Mills, Susan Moule, Quinton Jones, and was predeceased by siblings, William Jones, John Jones, Alan Jones, Dorothy Spears, and Kim Harrison. He was also the loving Grampy of Addie and Brayton Gazerro. 

A visiting hour, while observing Social Distance Guidelines, will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (RTE 117), Coventry, with a funeral service to begin at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made in Peter’s memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation (michaeljfox.org/donate), would be appreciated.
