Raymond R. Greene Jr., 60, passed away Monday night at Hope Health Hospice surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the devoted husband of 30 years to Anna Greene (D’Agostino).
Proud father of Sarah Greene and David Greene. Son of Raymond R Greene Sr and Mary G Greene (Smeals) who both predeceased him. Brother of Lisa DiBiasio (James). Beloved son-in-law of David and Maria D’Agostino.
Ray was a kind, generous and humble man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was employed by the Town of Coventry Public Works and Parks and Recreation for over 35 years and was looking forward to retiring in two years. He enjoyed watching the History channel, Family Feud, Car Masters, the Patriots and Yankees. He loved living near Santoros Pizza and enjoyed their wieners, pizza and steak and cheese sandwiches.
His family would like to thank the staff of HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, Brown University Health Cancer Institute, RI Hospital and Coventry Primary Care. To his co-workers who were like a second family showing their kindness from visits or going out to breakfast and generously donating their vacation and sick time to him. Also to Louis Diamonte who was his best friend and “brother” for over 40 years. Lastly to the Dagostino and Allen families for their love and support and for treating Ray like a son and brother. Soon he’ll be having a beer in heaven with his dad, father in law and uncles.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (ROUTE 117), Coventry. Burial is respectfully private.
We are all affected by cancer in one way or another so in the spirit of giving and in lieu of flowers please consider donating to Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, St Jude’s Children Hospital or Coventry Animal Shelter.
