LAMBERT, ESQ., RAYMOND E. “RAY”, 77, of West Warwick, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved companion of Karen E. Spatcher for 36 years. A lifelong resident of West Warwick, he was the son of the late William E. and Jeanne B. (Giguere) Lambert.
From a humble beginning, Raymond earned numerous academic scholarships and graduated from Bishop Hendricken High School, Providence College and from Notre Dame University with a Doctorate in Law. He practiced Law for over 50 years. Raymond served as a prosecutor for the WWPD for many years. He was a Municipal Court Judge in the Town of West Warwick, served as the longest tenured chairman of the West Warwick Democratic Town Committee, and served as chairman for the cities and towns of the Democratic committee for the State of RI. He was also chairman of the West Warwick Board of Canvassers. Before graduating from Notre Dame, Raymond studied comparative law in England for a year, and enjoyed down time traveling throughout Europe.
In his younger days, Raymond played in several fast pitch softball leagues.
He leaves his beloved companion Karen’s sons Matthew W. Beaudoin and Brian R. Beaudoin. Raymond was the brother of Doris Sword and her husband Ralph; he was the uncle of Peter Sword and Mark Sword.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 10 am at Christ the King Church, 124 Legris Avenue, West Warwick. Inurnment at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Greenwich.
