RICHARD E. "PAPPY" DESJARLAIS

DESJARLAIS, RICHARD E., "PAPPY" 65, of Coventry, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. In 2014, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, the late Joann (Fisher) Desjarlais.  

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Henry and Marie (Petit) Desjarlais. 

Richard, a proud and patriotic man, who had the utmost respect for the men and women of the United States armed forces. He volunteered his time with the Patriot Guard Riders, ensuring all veterans had dignity and respect in their final tributes. 

Someone who never expected anything in return, Richard was known by many for helping others in their time of need. 

In his spare time, Richard enjoyed riding motorcycles, and he was also an avid sports fan. Above all, Richard was most happy spending time and making memories with family and friends. 

He was the father of Richard D. “Ricky” Desjarlais and his girlfriend Amanda Cekala of West Warwick, Stacy A. Bates (Christopher) of West Warwick, Jackie M. Desjarlais and her fiance Charles Carpenter, of Coventry. He was the loving grandfather of Deanna, Brendon, Morgan, Alexis, Aleesa, and T.J.; great-grandfather of Kensley. He was the brother of  Donna Desjarlais, and the late Claire Hynes, Theresa McCoy, and Donald Desjarlais, Doris Campoiano, Joseph Dejarlais,

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (RTE 117), Coventry, 02816, with a Funeral Service to commence at 4:00 PM. Burial will be private.
