BACCALA, RITA K., (DIONNE) 96, formerly of Magnolia Lane in Coventry, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the South Kingstown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in West Kingston. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas A. Baccala in 2004 and her son Thomas J. Baccala in 2006. Born in Lincoln, New Hampshire, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred J. and Marguerite U. (Davis) Dionne.
Rita was a dedicated wife and mother. She enjoyed caring and cooking for her family, listening to Jazz music, and rooting for the Boston Red Sox. She was a giving and charitable person, always willing to help someone in need.
Rita is survived by her two granddaughters Nina C. Sullivan and her husband Mark and Cara E. Frescoln; and two great-grandchildren. She was the former mother-in-law of Joan M. (Fruggiero) Baccala. Rita was predeceased by her sister Gladys M. Conti in 2022. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours are Wednesday morning, February 5, 2025 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd. (Rte.3) in Coventry, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Saints John & Paul Church. Interment at Saint Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
