HAMLIN, RITA M., 78, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025 at the Cedar Crest Nursing Home, Cranston with her loving family by her side.
Born in West Warwick, Rita was a daughter of the late Gerard E. and Rita M. (Loranger) Lamothe.
A lifelong resident of Coventry, Rita was a graduate of Coventry High School’s Class of 1964. She then went on to earn her Medical Assistant’s Degree from the Sawyer School in Pawtucket, RI. A natural born caregiver, Rita loved helping her patients and made many lifelong friends throughout her career.
In her spare time, Rita enjoyed reading a good book and spending time outdoors. She loved to go camping and vanning, and Rita was a longtime member of the Out To Lunch Bunch Van Club where she and her fellow Vanners shared countless laughs and made many memories throughout the years. Above all, any time Rita was spending with her family, especially her grandson Devin, is what she cherished most.
Rita is survived by loving children, Michelle Bane, her husband Michael, and Doryanne Hamel, and her husband Daniel. She was the loving sister of Claire Murray, Edward Lamothe and Jean Lamothe. Adoring grandmother of Devin Bane, his wife Colby. Rita was also expecting her great granddaughter, Mila, who is to be arriving this coming December.
A celebration of life will be at a later date . Arrangements by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
