ROBERT E. AMARAL

AMARAL, ROBERT E., 87, passed away, Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Kent Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of the late Yvette M. (Boisclair) Amaral.  Born in 1931, in West Warwick to Manuel and Cecelia (Hunt) Amaral.

Robert was a lifelong Pawtuxet Valley resident.  Robert became the first male LPN in the state of RI while owning and operating, with his wife, Yvette, Amaral’s Foster Home, Ames St.  He also worked for several nursing homes and for Harold Glass in Cranston. 

He was a veteran in the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army.  Robert also loved music and played drums in the RI Independent Band.  

Surviving are three sons, David E. and his wife Janice, Thomas N. and his wife Sheryn and Peter W. and his wife Deborah, two daughters, Pauline C. Collins and Gail S. and her husband Allan Gianferante, one sister, Cecelia Leandro, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, as well as, many nieces and nephews.  

His funeral service will be Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 9:00 am at the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Peter and Paul Church, West Warwick.  Interment at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Coventry Senior Center, 1372 Main St., Coventry, RI  02816, would be greatly appreciated. iannottifh.com
