ROBERT BERTRAND BRODEUR

BRODEUR, ROBERT B., 84, of Andrews Avenue, West Warwick, passed away at Kent Hospital, with his loving family by his side, on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years Claire D. (Verrier) Brodeur in 2014. A lifelong resident of West Warwick, he was a son of the late Jerome H. and Emelda (Parenteau) Brodeur.

Robert graduated from West Warwick High School, class of 1955. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Bryant College in 1957. Robert was the proprietor of the former Arctic News on Washington Street in West Warwick for over 20 years, before closing in 1980. Robert then was employed as an inventory manager at Kent Hospital for many years before retiring. Robert loved spending time with his family and he was proud of his four sons. He enjoyed cooking, going for drives, and maintaining his home and yard.

He was the father of Stephen A. Brodeur (Donna) of Coventry, Thomas E. Brodeur (Shannon) of Waxhaw, NC, Kenneth J. Brodeur (Mary) of Pensacola, FL, and Douglas R. Brodeur (Bonnie) of Scituate. He was the brother of Fernande “Fern” O’Connell of Coventry, Richard Brodeur of Florida, and the late Bernard Brodeur. Robert is also survived by eleven grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be Saturday morning, January 22, 2022 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Saints John & James Church, West Warwick. Interment will follow at the Parish Cemetery, Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Warwick. iannottifh.com
