ROBERT J. KOWAL

KOWAL, ROBERT J., 78, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025 peacefully at home. 

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late John and Doris (Giroux) Kowal. 

Once Robert graduated from High School, he enlisted to serve his country in the United States Army. While training to defend his country, the passing of his father, John, led Robert to be Honorably Discharged from military service and return home to help support his mother and younger brothers. He then went on to earn his Associates Degree and he worked as an Electrical Technician at various companies throughout his career. Above all his professional endeavors, the work that was most special to Robert was his volunteer work for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. 

In his spare time, Robert enjoyed golfing, reading, and loved learning about history. He also enjoyed watching football and was a lifelong New England Patriots fan.

Robert is survived by his loving brothers, John J. Kowal of New Jersey, Michael A. Kowal of West Warwick, and David P. Kowal, also of West Warwick. 

Family and friends are invited to committal prayers with Military Funeral Honors at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Those planning to attend are invited to gather by the cemetery’s main entrance at 10:45 AM. Arrangements are by the Iannotti Funeral Home.
